Funeral of J. B. Dugan Will Be Held On Tuesday
"Funeral for James B. Dugan, 322 Buckley street, who died in the United States Naval Hospital, Philadelphia yesterday, is arranged for Tuesday morning.  Funeral will be from the Dugan home, and High Mass will be said in St. Mark's Church at 10 o'clock, with burial in St. Mark's Cemetery, under direction of the W. I. Murphy Estate.
The deceased, who served overseas with the U. S. Army during the World War, was gassed during his period of service.  He had been ill for the past three months.  Mr. Dugan was a member of Robert W. Bracken Post, No. 382, American Legion.  He was also a communicant of St. Mark's Church.
The deceased was the son of the late Neil and Marjorie Dugan, and husband of the late Sarah Brady Dugan.
He is survived by a son, Edmund, a sister, Mrs. Clarence Wilson, Bristol and the following brothers, Neil, Charles, John and Joseph Dugan, of Bristol and Daniel Dugan, Manchester, N. H."  Bristol Courier, February 11, 1939.

Edmund Dugan Reported In Very Serious Condition
"A well known basketball player, Edmund Dugan, 25 is in a serious condition in the Abington Hospital with a fractured skull.  Dugan was operated on last night after having been removed to the institution Sunday afternoon.
Dugan sustained his injury Saturday night in some manner along Highway,  south of Mill street.  There are conflicting rumors and the police are investigating.
According to relatives, Dugan's condition was very critical this morning.  Dugan plays forward on the Hibernian team in the Bristol Basketball League and is a popular member of the League."  Bristol Courier, February 20, 1939.

Edmund Dugan Dies As Result of Injuries
"Injured Saturday night when he is reported to have fallen down steps leading to the basement of the Hof Brau, Edmund Dugan, 25, died yesterday in the Abington Hospital.
Dugan, a prominent basketball player here, eas a member of the Hibernian team of the Bristol Basketball League.
An autopsy was held yesterday at Abington, and it is probable than an inquest will be held in Norristown.
The deceased was the son of the late James and Sarah Dugan.
Funeral will be held on Thursday at 8:30 a. m. from his late residence, 322 Buckley street.  High requiem Mass will be said in St. Mark's Church at 10 o'clock.  Burial in St. Mark's Cemetery will be under direction of W. I. Murphy Estate."  Bristol Courier, February 21, 1939.

James son Joseph remembers that his father was born in Summit Hill.  As a boy he came to Bristol by canal.  Frank was tired of working in the coal mines.  He came to Bristol to work in Grundy's Mills.  He was a watchman in the Mill.  Bristol had been where the coal was shipped by canal to and loaded onto ships to be delivered to Philadelphia and the eastern seaboard.  James served in the Army during World War I.

James married Theresa Motz, daughter of Charles Motz and Emma Staley "Ellen", on 6 Jul 1923 in Bristol, Bucks, Pennsylvania, USA. Theresa was born in 1896. She was christened in St. Mark's, Bristol, Bucks, Pennsylvania, USA. She died on 6 Jan 1946. She was buried in Jan 1946 in St. Mark's Cem., Bristol, Bucks, Pennsylvania.

Was called Tessie.

She was buried in Bristol Cemetery, Bristol, Bucks, Pennsylvania, USA.
