NIOTA, Ill. –– John Patrick Bush, 41, of Niota, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, as the result of an automobile accident near Niota. He was born on May 16, 1969, in Fort Madison, the son of Donald James and Sonja Jean Jolley Bush. They survive in Nauvoo, Ill.. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Erma Gilbert of Petersburg, Ill.; two daughters, Jordan and Katie Bush, and their mother, Kacey Bush, all of Hamilton, Ill.; a sister, Mitzi (Greg) Walker of Tampa Bay, Fla.; a brother, Jamie (Shelley) Bush of Nauvoo; five nephews, Jared, Andrew, Jeremy, Ian and Corby; two nieces, Jaley and Sydney; and a great-niece, Alexa. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. He graduated from Nauvoo-Colusa High School in 1987. He was employed as a union iron worker (Local 577) and was working for Ames Contracting in Keokuk. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo. John enjoyed woodworking, gardening and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed cooking and loved animals. He especially loved the time he spent with his daughters and his family. A mass of Christian burial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Szydlik as celebrant. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Nauvoo. Visitation is after 3 p.m. today at Lamporte - St.Clair Funeral Home, Nauvoo, with family meeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. A memorial has been established for his children’s education fund."
