January 18, 2003 from Gobearsrolltide@aol.com (B.Patterson)   BOYD , CARDON, MASON , PATTERSON - I am researching my ggggrandfather James Patterson born as far as I know in Bedford County. I know that he was married there to Martha Boyd in 1770. I believe he was married to an Elizabeth Cardon before that in 1763. I am trying to verify that however. I believe that he had a son by her named James. I am trying also to find information on who his parents were and anything else that I can find about them. I am also trying to find information about Martha's parents, William Boyd and Margaret Mason. I know that the Mason family name appears many times in Virginia hisatory. I do not know if she is part of that family or not. Can you help me please? I live near Houston, Texas and very seldom get to your area to do any first hand research. Thank you for your time.
