"My memories of my Aunt Marion:
She was a gracious person and always a lady.  She exhibited in her voice and demeanor the strong influences of the South.  To her last days, she was concerned about her appearance and if her hair was properly coiffed. Although the last five years of her life were difficult coping with her daughter's cancer and resulting death, and her husband's death, overall I believe she had a happy life.  In her last years she had many friends, some considerably younger.  She and Cordis lived in a beautiful area of St. Louis (overlooking the clydesdale paddock of Busch Gardens), had many, many friends, were involved with their church and had a happy marriage.  Cordis was a true character (from Oklahoma) and had a very good sense of humor.  They met during the war at a USO dance.  Marion took care of her mother, Adelaide, for many years until her mother's death.  She was very generous in her will to those she cared about and to her church and the Humane Society of Missouri.  She is missed by many and truly a flower on our family tree."  "Cindy" Cynthia Anne Meier DeMartini, August 10, 2012.

Dear Blaine,
I hope you won't mind if I'm not formal, but thought since we are relatives we may as well act like it.  I'm not sure you will be able to read this as I don't do quite as well as I did years ago.
I'm sorry I am so slow getting this information for you, but decided to paint the walls & woodwork in my dining room and it took longer than I expected.  My daughter Elaine Foehring offered to help me get some dates from the Cemetery, but just as we were leaving an old friend stopped by to visit so didn't get there.  Today I went alone and came up with some dates you may want.  First the stone you saw with the name Terrance Brady is undoubtly My great grandparents and your great, great, great grandparents I think.  The stone was probably put there after Mike Brady's wife died in 1937.  The dates I copied are as follows Terrance Brady died Sept. 13, 1854 age 40 years.  No birth date given.  His wife Bridget Brady Jan. 1-1822 died Sept. 15-1892.  Michael Brady Oct. 8-1843 - Mar. 11-1917  His wife Mary Brady Jan. 1-1847 - Feb. 18-1937.
I remember her well, but just barely remember Uncle Mike.  I could not find a stone for Uncle Jim Brady, but since he was not married there probably isn't one.
My grandparents were Thomas N. Moffitt July 15, 1845 - May 13, 1935.  Elizabeth Oct. 22-1847 - Nov. 17-1912.  Also found Mary E. (Brady) Ogden July 9-1840 - Jan 24-1927.  Her husband Wm July 10-1837 - Jan 27-1912.  I never knew them as they lived in Des Moines Iowa.  Remember meeting one or two daughters.
Thanks so much for the picture and tell your grandfather if he ever visits Nauvoo while I'm still here I would be very glad to meet him.  Am sending a clipping from a death notice of one of Mike Brady's darghters.  By the way I'm sure you meant your grandfather would be a cousin to my DAd not my Mother.
If I come up with more information will be glad to pass it along to you.
              As ever
                         Bertha (Moffitt) Bush

(The dates I sent first were on the Stones at the cemetery so should be correct)

Dear Blaine,
Am sorry I have been so slow in answering but have spent most of the last two weeks in bed with the flu.  Sure had it hard but was lucky to have a grandaughter a student at Iowa City who was home for Christmas break.  She offered to stay with me until she had to go back to school.  Then my neighbor offered to give me penisillum shots.  She came every day for 10 days.  If I had to go out in the cold to the Dr's office I'm afraid I wouldn't have made it.
Am sending what information I have here.
Buelah Gotschall is the only decendant of Michael & Mary Brady now living.  I wrote to my cousin in Chicago to get it.
As for the ones from the Rectory, I'll have my daughter-in-law check if she can find Father Wissing there, but he spends so much time over at the school, he is hard to find.  I don't know when I'll be able to go to town.
Michael & Jim Brady were of course my great Uncles and while I remember Uncle Mike & Aunt Mary I think Uncle Jim died when I was quite small.  I remember my Dad saying he lived with them as he was not married.
Best Wishes     Bertha Bush

Henry's christening record lists his name as Henry Aloishus Reimbold.  Henry did not like the middle name Aloishus so had it legally changed to Edward after his father.

"I remember a lot about Henry A. Reimbold. He was my maternal grandfather. We used to visit with him and Constance, my grandmother at the farm of Aloysius Faulkner, my maternal great grandfather in Nauvoo, Illinois when I was very young. They owned a house at 61st and Lawndale in Chicago and I remember fondly visiting my 6 uncles there. My mother's youngest brother John Reimbold was like an older brother to me as I had no older siblings. He was the youngest of 8 and I was the the eldest of 8. He was two years my senior and we were best of friends throughout high school and college as well. Henry was an avid baseball fan and particularly fond of the Chicago White Sox. His favorite read was the Sporting News and he smoked Dutch Masters cigars. He worked nights for the railroad. First at Dearborn Street Station and then later at Union Station. He was a ticket seller at the station. Mary Anne, my mother, was the eldest daughter of Connie and Henry. She married my father, Augustine W. Casey at St. Nicholas Church on Lawndale Avenue in Chicago. They grew up about one block from each other. Augustine was the the second eldest of five children born to Peter Casey and Nora Casey nee Galvin. Peter Casey was from Templemore, Ireland and Nora Galvin from Galway, Ireland."                                      Michael J. Casey, Aurura, Illinois, 7/17/2007

Henry Edward Reimbold married Constance Marjorie Faulkner, daughter of Mary Aloishus Faulkner and Anna Emma Haas, on 17 Jun 1936 in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, USA. Constance was born on 30 Jul 1911 in Sonora, Hancock, Illinois, USA. She was christened on 20 Aug 1911 in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, USA. She died on 17 May 2016 in Carbondale, Jackson, Illinois, USA. She was buried on 23 May 2016 in Oakland Cemetery, Carbondale, Illinois, USA.

CARBONDALE — Connie Reimbold seemed to think the fuss everyone made over her birthday was unnecessary, but she did not complain.

“I guess it’s not everyday someone turns 102,” she said.

Reimbold was guest of honor at a large birthday celebration July 26 at Liberty Village. Her actual birthday is July 30.

“We had a big party with ice cream and cake,” Reimbold said. “And I think everybody who lives here came.”

Her sons, Don Reimbold of Alto Pass and John Reimbold of Carbondale, also took her to dinner at Midland Inn on July 30.

“It’s one of my favorite places,” she said. “I love their catfish.”

Reimbold has eight children, and her oldest daughter is deceased. She also has 28 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Born in Nauvoo, Reimbold completed one year of college at Western Illinois University in Macomb, and then taught in a one-room school for seven years. She quit teaching and moved when she got married.

The couple moved to Carbondale in 1990 to be close to their sons and because her husband’s health was “not that good.” He passed away two years later. She turned to her sons’ families to keep busy.

“I was helping with grandkids through my 80s,” she said with a smile.

Today, Reimbold remains active.

She walks the length of the building, up the stairs, walks the length of the building and down the other side every day. She also takes an exercise class through John A. Logan College that meets three times each week at Liberty Village. Reimbold also plans to travel to San Diego to see her daughter at the end of August.

Another way Reimbold stays active is by attending Mass every Monday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. After services, she and a friend have lunch at McDonald’s.

“McDonald’s is the only restaurant where you can sit down and talk,” Reimbold said.

At 102, Reimbold has few health problems. She does have high blood pressure that is controlled with medication. When she saw her doctor in May, he told her to come back in six months.

She also has a little trouble hearing. She complained to her son, John, who owns All American Hearing.

“He said, ‘Mom, you’re old,’” Reimbold said laughing.
