MY DAD

My Dad you walked with strong legs
that took you to many lands
Where you shared of your love freely
opening hearts and hands

Your blue eyes saw so truly
all the good deep down inside
Your compassion and acceptance
a heart to never hide

You taught us what it means to smile
and cry with those in pain
You held our hands through good and bad
and we did the same

You gave us all the best you had
and we are forever changed
Enough love to last a lifetime
remains your fame

My dad you are my hero though we miss you here today
You live on in each of us
and we will reunite someday

I love you dad.
I am forever your daughter, Hilary
