675. Carol Lee Flood (Joseph Michael Flood , Joseph Philip Flood , Anna Elizabeth Brady , William , Michael , Terence ) was born in Dec 1946 in Bradley Beach, Monmouth, New Jersey, USA. She died in 2021.

"Carol Flood Clark

Carol Flood Clark, my beautiful and sassy wife of more than 46 years, passed away this week after suffering a significant stroke. We met in the winter of 1974 at The Stone Church in Newmarket, NH. Sitting with her girlfriends she saw me sipping my beer and pushing my glasses back up my nose at another table and said "That's the man I am going to marry." She introduced herself and upon learning that I was searching for a five-and-a-half-inch damper for my Dad's woodstove, exclaimed "I have one! But you'll have to come over to my house to get it." We chose a date in the near future and when she returned to her girlfriends, she asked "What's a five-and-a-half-inch damper?" We were married a year later on February 1 st 1975 in the Madbury Town Hall. Not so well known, is that I actually spotted her "first;" months (at least) earlier when she was working at the Stone Church seemingly floating about the room, mugs of beer in each hand; smiling, laughing, and glowing as she drifted from table to table delivering the elixir of hippie life to the masses. I was in love, but far too timid and insecure to act. It was Carol's love, support, and very different history that grew me into the confident and caring man I am today. She will always and forever be my inspiration and foremost in my heart.

We have three children, many grandchildren, and even 4 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. She leaves a sister and a brother while joining two of each in the next world. Carol led a very interesting and impactful life which included while a young mother of two, learning to be a medical technologist under the mentorship of three strong and interesting women: Alda, Adeen, and Adelle. She "worked" at Clarence's Chowder House with Mary Jane Moulton which was almost a right of feminist passage in the late 70's and early 80's in Portsmouth. She played an important part of the early growth of Strawbery Banke as a lead interpreter. She helped many grieving children and adults heal through collaborative art projects at Sattva with Judy Matthews. She was a self-taught artist who worked in many mediums including casting life masks. She taught art to disadvantaged students at the Woodman Park Elementary School in Dover, NH helping them to address the many and varied challenges in their young lives. She was very proud of this significant contribution to our community. Her last job was as a phlebotomist for Portsmouth Regional Hospital where people would wait for her to be able to have her take their blood. She later volunteered with Rockingham Hospice.

She will be sorely missed by those of us left behind; but she is re-united with her sisters Etta Mae and Valerie, her brothers Danny and Billy, many friends including two of her closest

Stephanie and Petro. Rest in Peace, My Love, and don't cause too much trouble over there.

You are forever in my heart and soul. Love, John."  Portsmouth Herald/Foster's Daily Democrat/Seacoast Sunday, Portsmouth Herald/Foster's Daily Democrat/Seacoast Sunday, August 21, 2021.
